KOMISI Pemilihan Umum (KPU) Sukoharjo menggelar Forum Group Discussion (FGD) terkait evaluasi Pilkada 2020, Kamis (25/02/2021).
FGD yang digelar di salah satu rumah makan di Sukoharjo itu dihadiri kalangan wartawan desk Sukoharjo, serta beberapa pimpinan radio swasta niaga, termasuk RSPD.
“Secara umum, pelaksanaan Pilkada Sukoharjo berjalan lancar serta tidak ada gugatan hukum. Satu hal yang juga menjadi catatan atas suksesnya pilkada adalah tidak menciptakan klaster baru Covid-19. Itu semua berkat peran media,” ungkap Ketua KPU Sukoharjo Nuril Huda kepada wartawan, usai acara.
Menurutnya, salah satu indikator kesuksesan Pilkada adalah naiknya tingkat partisipasi masyarakat dibandingkan pilkada sebelumnya. Bahkan tingkat partisipasi masyarakat tersebut, menurutnya di luar prediksi, mengingat Pilkada 2020 digelar di tengah pandemi.
“KPU Sukoharjo memberikan apresiasi atas peran media yang telah memberitakan seputar kegiatan pilkada mulai dari sosialisasi, kontestasi dua paslon, hingga soal pandemi virus Corona sendiri,” tandas Nuril Huda.
Sementara Komisioner KPU dari Divisi Sosialisasi Suci Handayani mengakui jika peran media dalam kesukseskan pilkada terbilang luar biasa.
“Ya, kami berterima kasih kepada teman-teman media yang total dalam pemberitaan tahapan Pilkada. Oleh karena itu, sebagai bentuk apresiasi, KPU memberikan piagam penghargaan bagi semua wartawan yang meliput di wilayah Kabupaten Sukoharjo,” ujar Suci.
Hal lain yang menjadikan tingkat partisipasi pemilih naik di luar target adalah faktor lomba vlog dan juga selfie di tempat pemungutan suara (TPS) yang membuat masyarakat menjadi tertarik untuk datang ke TPS, khususnya dari kalangan pemilih pemula.
“Untuk lomba vlog dan selfie ternyata peminatnya cukup banyak yang dari kalangan milenial,” bebernya.
Seperti diketahui, tingkat partisipasi masyarakat dalam Pilkada 2020 lalu sebesar 78,55 persen. Angka partisipasi tersebut melampaui target nasional sebesar 77,5 persen.
Selain itu, tingginya angka partisipasi juga dipengaruhi oleh kontestasi dari dua paslon tersebut. Bahkan partisipasi masyarakat tertinggi terjadi di Kecamatan Nguter, mencapai 19 persen.
“Itu membuktikan di daerah tersebut ingin adanya perubahan dari kepemimpinan periode sebelumnya,” ujar Suci Handayani.***
