Hal itu dikemukakan pakar pertanian dan penemu bibit Sertani 14 itu dalam pertemuan dengan Gabungan Kelompok Tani (Gapoktan) Sri Rejeki Desa Pengkok, Kecamatan Kedawung, Kabupaten Sragen di rumah Kepala Desa (Kades) Pengkok Sugimin Cokro, Kamis (18/2/2021).
Pertemuan Surono Danu dengan Gapoktan Sri Rejeki yang diprakarsai Kades Pengkok Sugimin Cokro itu juga membahas pembibitan padi yang baik dan pembuatan pupuk organik cair (POC).
Dia mengatakan, tanah di Indonesia itu berbeda, sehingga proses pembuatan dan penggunaan pupuk pun berbeda. Tanah Pulau Jawa, menurut Surono Danu, menunjukkan kualitas yang lebih baik, tapi kondisi puluhan tahun terakhir menunjukkan kerusakan yang cukup signifikan dikarenakan penggunaan pestisida dalam jangka waktu lama.
Menurutnya, padi bukan tanaman air, namun dibutuhkan partikel air, meski hanya perlu sebagian air untuk menumbuhkan padi tersebut.
Kades Pengkok Sugimin Cokro meminta kepada Surono Danu untuk melatih petani yang tergabung di Gapoktan Sri Rejeki tentang cara pemulihan tanah yang sudah rusak akibat penggunaan pestisida dan pembuatan POC yang lebih bermanfaat.
Pertemuan Surono Danu dengan Gapoktan Sri Rejeki ini juga dihadiri Dewan Pengurus Daerah Himpunan Masyarakat Tani dan Nelayan (DPD Himtani) Jawa Tengah yang dikoordinasikan oleh Ketua DPC Himtani Sragen Suhadi.
Saat bincang-bincang dengan inspirasiline.com di sela-sela pertemuan, Suhadi mengatakan, akan meminta kepada Surono Danu untuk membimbing petani di Bumi Sukowati supaya bisa meningkatkan hasil panen, agar Sragen tetap bisa menjadi lumbung pangan orang Jawa Tengah.
“Himtani Sragen akan memprakarsai pembudidayaan padi organik, pembuatan pupuk kompos, dan pupuk cair. Mohon doanya, teman-teman dari media,” ujar Suhadi singkat.
Seusai pertemuan dengan Gapoktan Sri Rejeki di rumah Kades Pengkok Sugimin Cokro, Surono Danu didampingi Pengurus DPD Himtani Jateng mampir ke Kantor Yayasan Al Hadi Utomo.
Di Kantor Yayasan Al Hadi Utomo, Surono Danu diberi kenang-kenangan berupa baju seragam Himtani Sragen.
Selanjutnya, Surono Danu meneruskan perjalanan ke Cepu, Kabupaten Bolra.***
