Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta (UMS) yang berlokasi di wilayah Kecamatan Kartasura Kabupaten Sukoharjo Fakultas Kedokteran Gigi menyelenggarakan sumpah dokter gigi periode XVII secara luring di Auditorium Mohammad Djazman UMS Sabtu, (22/1).
“Ini menjadi prestasi yang luar biasa, dan ini kesekian kalinya saya mendapatkan laporan bahwa lulusan kedokteran gigi UMS mayoritas mendapatkan predikat cumlaude,” papar Rektor UMS Prof Sofyan Anif.
Dia juga menyampaikan bahwa ini bukan akhir dari perjalanan. Lulusan dokter gigi UMS selalu ditantang untuk dapat menunjukkan keunggulan dan berkontribusi dalam masyarakat.
“Setelah ini, sumpahwan harus mampu menjawab berbagai issue dan keluhan, bahkan menjawab rasa ketidakpercayaan masyarakat terhadap kedokteran gigi UMS. Harus memperbanyak aksi, dan sumbangsih terhadap masyarakat dalam bidang kedokteran gigi,” tegas Sofyan.
Menurut Rektor UMS, keberadaan Rumah Sakit Gigi dan Mulut (RSGM) UMS sebagai wahana dalam pengembangan kompetensi dan keilmuan mahasiswa kedokteran gigi UMS. Selain itu sebentar lagi UMS akan segera memiliki rumah sakit umum sendiri yang akan selesai pada tahun ini. “Sekali lagi saya mengucapkan selamat kepada dokter gigi baru dan orang tua yang telah mempercayakan pendidikan kepada Kedokteran Gigi UMS,” ungkapnya.
Dalam akhir sambutannya Rektor UMS berpesan kepada sumpahwan agar setelah lulus, diharapkan menjadi kader Muhammadiyah dalam bidang Kedokteran Gigi yang memiliki karakter. “Jadilah kader-kader dokter Muhammadiyah yang ramah senyum dan selalu menampilkan karakter Islami,” tambahnya. Dalam kesempatan yang sama Kepala Profesi, drg. Ikmal Hafidzi, MDSc dalam laporan program profesi ini menyebutkan ada 4 mahasiswa yang disumpah meraih IP 4.0 dengan predikat Mumtaz.
“Sumpahwan dengan predikat Mumtaz diantaranya Firdaus Sultan, Danti Narulita, Annisa Nur A dan Syifa Shafira,” ujar Ikmal
Firdaus Sultan selaku sumpahwan menyampaikan terima kasih kepada dosen FKG UMS yang dengan sabar dan ikhlas mendidik kami selama menempuh perkuliahan dan praktik.
“Tak lupa juga kita sampaikan terima kasih kepada kedua orang tua kami, yang menjadi cahaya yang tidak pernah redup dalam memberikan semangat dalam menempuh pendidikan, memberi support ketika ingin menyerah dan selalu mendoakan siang dan malam demi kesuksesan kami,” paparnya. (Prie)
