Menurut Supani, Bangsa Indonesia merdeka bukan merupakan hadiah Belanda maupun Jepang, melainkan jerih payah seluruh rakyat Indonesia bersama para pejuang kemerdekaan.
“Mengingat begitu berat para syuhada, maka kita sebagai generasi penerus wajib untuk mengingat, dan tentunya berziarah dan tabur bunga seraya mendoakan para pahlawan,” ujarnya.
Supani menambahkan, sebagai bagian dari rakyat Indonesia, Ontoseno sangat mengapresiasi perjuangan para pahlawan kemerdekaan, dengan bersepeda dan berpakaian layaknya pejuang kemerdekaan tempo doeloe.***
