MENGIKUTI perkembangan zaman yang serba digital dan mesin, kegiatan pemanenan kacang hijau di Dukuh Pereng, Desa Prambatan Lor, Kecamatan Kaliwungu, Kabupaten Kudus pun menggunakan alat berat mesin Combi.

Penggunaan mesin Combi benar-benar sangat efektif dan efisien. Untuk memanen padi maupun kacang hijau seukuran sawah satu hektare, hanya memakan waktu 2,5 jam.

PEMANENAN kacang hijau atau padi menggunakan mesin Combi di sawah seluas satu hektare, hanya memakan waktu 2,5 jam.

Tak hanya menyingkat waktu dan tenaga, biaya pemanfaatan alat ini hanya Rp 1, 3 juta, untuk pemanenan seluas itu. “Sangat jauh  jika dibandingkan dengan tenaga manusia,” ujar Usman, operator Combi, Minggu (27/9/2020).

Namun, di balik nilai positifnya, yang cenderung lebih efektif, murah, dan cepat, penggunaan mesin untuk kegiatan pertanian memiliki sisi negatif. Jelas sekali, penggunaan mesin sangat mengurangi tenaga manusia sekaligus meresahkan kalangan petani.

“Tentu ini jadi petaka bagi petani penggarap sawah, apalagi tenaga yang hanya menggantungkan kerja di sawah seperti saya,” ungkap Slamet, petani penggarap sawah setempat.***
