KONDISI Suji Mentir, sinden kondang asal Kabupaten Sragen sangat memprihatinkan. Dia hanya terbaring lemah tanpa daya.
Nyoi Prawati (22), anak angkat Suji Mentir mengatakan, ibunya jatuh sakit sudah lebih dari 10 tahun.
Bermula saat Suji ditawari job manggung di salah satu kota. Namun job manggung dengan bayaran lumayan besar itu terpaksa dibatalkan, karena tiba-tiba dia merasakan sesuatu yang tidak beres di tenggorokannya.
Hari terus berganti, sakit tenggorokan kian parah. Tak hanya job batal, aktivitas dan kondisi kesehatan Suji Mentir kian memburuk.
“Iya, bermula sakit tenggorokan, lalu ibu membatalkan job itu. Sejak itulah, semakin ke sini ibu makin sakit-sakitan,” tutur Nyoi kepada inspirasilne.com yang menyambangi rumahnya, Rabu (13/1/2021).
Sejak itulah, sang maestro Tayub Sragenan itu mulai meninggalkan dunia hiburan. Suji Mentir pun memilih istirahat, untuk penyembuhan penyakit yang dideritanya.
Akibat tidak bisa bekerja, Suji Metir mulai merasakan beban hidup semakin berat.
”Ibu adalah tulang punggung keluarga, Pak. Dari job tayub ledek dan jadi sinden beberapa dalang wayang itu, ibu mendapat penghasilan dan bisa buat kebutuhan saya. Namun kini ibu sakit kayak gini. Dulu saya di rumah sini sama ibu saja,” ujar Nyoi Prawati.
Berobat Seadanya
Terpisah, Marsudi (45), keponakan Suji Mentir pada awak media juga menyampaikan, Suji Mentir sakit parah sejak beberapa tahun silam.
Hal itu diperparah dengan kondisi ekonomi yang semakin tak bersahabat. Hingga biaya berobat pun kesulitan, sampai akhirnya hanya pasrah berobat seadanya di rumah.
“Faktor ekonomi turut mempengaruhi kondisi ibu semakin parah. Karena ibu tulang punggung keluarga. Sakit tengorokan, terus makin banyak pikiran akan kebutuhan hidup. Sakit kedua kepalanya terasa amat sakit, juga ikut diderita ibu. Deritanya makin bertambah, ketika hasil kontrol terakhir ke dokter, ibu (Suji Mentir) divonis penyakit gula,” beber Marsudi.
Tak ayal, kondisi tubuh Suji makin mengering dan terlihat tinggal tulang terbalut kulit. Bersamaan itu, badannya juga lumpuh separuh, tak bisa lagi digerakkan.
“Saat ini ibu tambah sakit lagi. Kemarin dikontrolkan di rumah sakit, ibu divonis sakit gula. Semakin ke sini tubuh ibu semakin lemah dan tak berdaya. Tubuh ibu mati separuh yang sebelah kiri, dari tangan sampai kaki sudah tidak bisa digerakkan lagi. Ibu saat ini juga tidak bisa bicara,” ungkap Marsudi.
Bantuan Dermawan
Keluarga hanya bisa berharap, dengan kondisi Suji Mentir yang kini sangat memprihatikan itu, ada uluran tangan dermawan yang tergerak membantunya.
Sujiati Mentir atau sering dikenal dengan nama Suji Mentir Maestro Tayub Sragenan itu terkenal melalui lagu-lagunya: Kentil Geyong, Sawo Gletak, Ngudang Anak, dan Kijing Miring.
Di masa jayanya, Suji Mentir hampir tak pernah sepi job manggung. Pesona kecantikan dan suara emas Suji, membuatnya hampir selalu jadi bintang panggung tayuban.
Suji Mentir bahkan sering tampil bersama beberapa dalang kondang, seperti Ki Manteb Sudarsono, Ki Anom Suroto, Ki Purbo, Ki Untung Wiyono, Ki Putut, dan dalang kondang lainnya.***
