Pelayanan KB dan edukasi kesehatan reproduksi terus ditingkatkan menuju target Indonesia Sehat, melalui program Pembangunan Keluarga dan Keluarga Berencana (Bangga Kencana) sebagai new branding BKKBN Republik Indonesia.
JELANG Hari Kontrasepsi Sedunia atau World Contraception Day (WCD), 26 September 2020, berbagai kegiatan digelar pemerintah terkait upaya pengendalian penduduk dan perencanaan keluarga sehat, untuk menjangkau langsung masyarakat. Di Temanggung, misalnya, dilakukan pelayanan gratis pemasangan alat kontrasepsi di Puskesmas Darmo Rini, Selasa (15/9/2020).
Peringatan Hari Kontrasepsi Sedunia di Kabupaten Temanggung dihelat sesuai tema “Bersama Mitra Keluarga Berencana Kita Tingkatkan Akses dan Kualitas Pelayanan KB dan Kesehatan Reproduksi pada Adaptasi Kebiasaan Baru”.
Kepala Bidang Keluarga Berencana Dinas Pengendalian Penduduk Keluarga Berencana Pemberdayaan Perempuan dan Perlindungan Anak (PPKB-PPPA) Kabupaten Temanggung Brojosono mengatakan, kegiatan pelayanan kontrasepsi gratis memperingat Hari Kontrasepsi Sedunia bertujuan meningkatkan kesadaran masyarakat tentang perlunya perencanaan keluarga, memberikan edukasi tentang penggunaan kontrasepsi, dan mengupayakan generasi muda untuk mendapatkan informasi tentang kesehatan reproduksi dan kesehatan seksual.
“Bersama mitra BKKBN, yaitu tenaga kesehatan, penyuluh KB, PPKBD, dan Sub-PPKBD kita gerakkan kesadaran masyarakat untuk mengatur jarak kelahiran yang ideal, sehingga nantinya terbentuk keluarga yang sehat berkualitas,” tandas Brojosono.
Kesehatan Reproduksi
WCD pertama diluncurkan di seluruh dunia pada 26 September 2007. Melalui momentum ini, pelayanan KB dan edukasi kesehatan reproduksi terus ditingkatkan menuju tercapainya Indonesia Sehat melalui program Pembangunan Keluarga dan Keluarga Berencana (Bangga Kencana) sebagai new branding BKKBN Republik Indonesia.
Kontrasepsi intrauterine device (IUD) saat ini menempati pilihan utama pasangan usia subur (PUS) di Temanggung. Alasannya memang mendasar, yaitu cukup aman untuk sebagian besar wanita dan masa efektifnya hingga 10 tahun.
Setelah IUD, pilihan masyarakat berikutnya adalah kontrasepsi implan atau susuk.
Dalam peringatan Hari Kontrasepsi Sedunia kali ini ditargetkan 400 akseptor, baik pasang baru maupun ganti alat kontrasepsi yang akan dilayani di Puskesmas Temanggung 1 dan Puskesmas Darmo Rini, Temanggung.
Indah Kusumaningrum, bidan Puskesmas Temanggung 1 mengatakan, kontrasepsi IUD atau bisa juga disebut sebagai KB spiral adalah sebuah alat berbahan plastik yang memiliki bentuk seperti huruf “T” dan dipasang di dalam rahim untuk mencegah kehamilan.
Dijelaskan, IUD terbagi dalam dua jenis, yaitu IUD yang dilapisi tembaga atau IUD non-hormonal dan IUD yang menghasilkan hormon progesteron atau IUD hormonal. Cara kerjanya, IUD hormonal bekerja dengan cara melepas hormon progestin sedikit demi sedikit setiap hari. Hormon ini kemudian akan mengentalkan cairan di bagian leher rahim, sehingga sperma jadi lebih sulit untuk bisa masuk ke dalam rahim.
“Kalaupun berhasil terjadi pembuahan, hormon ini akan menipiskan lapisan rahim, sehingga membuat sel telur yang dibuahi susah untuk menempel,” terang Indah Kusumaningrum. “Penggunaan IUD jenis ini diduga bisa membuat menstruasi seorang wanita jadi lebih ringan,” imbuhnya.***
